The Alchemist has joined the bottomless brunch scene, and I must personally say it’s one of the best deals in Manchester. It’s a bold statement—I know! However, when compared to some other bottomless brunch offerings, they just don’t seem worth the price. The Alchemist, on the other hand, has elevated their brunch by including cocktails!

It’s a shame the Old Fashioned isn’t included, but I’ll let them off. However, I do hope a whiskey-based option will come to Manchester or be included in the drinks selection soon—I’m a whiskey woman!

I’m thrilled that The Alchemist has launched their bottomless brunch. Now, let’s dive into the details you’ve been waiting for! They offer two versions of their brunch: one includes three cocktails, or you can go bottomless for an extra tenner! Allow me to explain further below.

What Is The Alchemist Brunch?

Option 1: Treat yourself to a delicious brunch dish paired with three of our signature cocktails for a fixed price of £30.

As some of you may know, our cocktails range from £9 to £15 each. If you were to order the three cocktails separately, it would usually cost you £31, but with this offer, you also get a dish!

How Long Is The Bottomless Brunch?

Option 2: Similar to the above, but for an additional £10, you can upgrade to bottomless cocktails for 90 minutes.

What Time Does The Bottomless Brunch Start At The Alchemist?

The Alchemy Cocktail Brunch is every Saturday starting at 10am-2pm and Sunday from 11am-4pm.

Which Cocktails Are Available On The Alchemist Brunch?

Choose from: The classic Aperol Spritz, Pop Notch, Red Dead Zombie, Prosecco, IPA Lager, the whimsical Bubblebath, and the enchanting Colour Changing One.

Non-alcoholic options are also available.

DO I NEED TO MAKE A RESERVATION AT THE ALCHEMIST?

No reservations necessary as they cater to walk-ins! There’s typically plenty of room at the bar during the week, but I’d suggest booking for the weekend or if you’re in a large group. There’s nothing worse than wanting to enjoy cocktails on a Saturday night only to find out you’ll be standing all night.

DOES THE ALCHEMIST CHARGE AN ENTRY FEE?

No, there is no entry fee. The Alchemist has free entry unless there is a specifically booked event. However, during busy periods, there might be a short wait for a table!

WILL I BE REQUIRED TO PAY A DEPOSIT?

Bookings for 7 or more people, do require a deposit. The deposit terms and conditions can be found here.

IS THERE A DRESS CODE FOR THE ALCHEMIST?

All styles are embraced, but the dress code is Smart Casual. Please note that fancy dress is not permitted.

DO I NEED TO PROVIDE ID UPON ENTRY?

Yes, I’d always bring out your ID just in case. You don’t want your night ruined if you fail to provide ID.

Accepted forms of ID include:

ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED IN THE EVENING?

Guests under 18 are welcome in the bar area until 8pm when accompanied by an adult.

DO YOU OFFER A CHILDREN’S MENU?

Yes, The Alchemist has a children’s menu of bento boxes, as well as being able to order from the main menu.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I’M RUNNING LATE FOR MY BOOKING?

Sometimes unexpected delays occur, but I’ve learned it’s best to give them a ring as soon as you know you’ll be late—especially during those just-in-case moments. Simply give them a call, and they’ll be able to hold your table. If you don’t call, they may have a 15-minute holding policy, and you risk losing your reservation

Dogs are permitted in the outdoor areas! Service dogs are welcome throughout the venue.

DOES THE ALCHEMIST HAVE A HAPPY HOUR?

Unfortunately, not. This would be an immesne happy hour if The Alchemist did one. However, they do offer some great brunch deals, and their cosmic supper club.

DOES THE ALCHEMIST HAVE A CLOAKROOM?

I must admit, this one has slipped past me. I’ve checked The Alchemist’s website for an answer, and here’s what I found:

“Cloakroom availability varies across venues, so please check directly. Each venue does have an area for coat storage, but please note it is not manned, so items are left at your own risk. Larger items like suitcases can be stored in our offices; just speak to your manager.”

To be honest, I’ve never been offered the cloakroom, even when dining, if I recall correctly, and I assumed they didn’t have one. However, I’ll personally make it a mission to inquire about the cloakrooms in the Manchester branches, so I can provide you with direct answers

DO THE ALCHEMIST SERVE HALAL?

The Alchemist do not offer Halal dishes.

However, there are several vegetarian and fish options as alternatives.

CAN I BOOK A TABLE FOR DRINKS AT THE ALCHEMIST?

Yes, you can book a drinks table using using the booking form.

CAN I BOOK A SPECIFIC AREA?

Yes, you can. Head to the experiences section of your venue webpage to make an enquiry.

DOES THE ALCHEMIST ALLOW HEN/STAG PARTIES?

They do, but they have asked for any hen/stag do to refrain from bringing in any hen/stag paraphernalia, table decorations, balloons, or fancy dress. Therefore, if you’re planning for games or decorations, The Alchemist wouldn’t be your best bet.

DOES THE ALCHEMIST HAVE DISABLED ACCESS?

Yes, they do. Prior to your visit, contact the venue directly with any questions and they’ll be more than happy to answer for you. It’s always best to check with a venue for exact clarification to avoid any hassle for your day.

DOES THE ALCHEMIST USE BIO-DEGRADABLE STRAWS?

The Alchemist has stopped serving straws as standard with quite a few cocktails, but if you request a straw they do have bio-degradable straws made from seashells! How wonderful to hear!

DOES THE ALCHEMIST HAVE A POLICY ON WASTAGE?

Yes, we’re committed to minimizing waste. Our efforts include using biodegradable straws and sustainable packaging in our kitchens. With an average food output of only 1.75% per month, we’re proud to recycle excess food into oil.”

Seeing companies take proactive steps to make changes, even before being mandated, brings joy to the industry. The Alchemist is striving to become more eco-friendly, and we’re here for it!

WHAT SAFETY FACTORS DO THE ALCHEMIST HAVE?

Implemented in all venues is the nationally recognized ‘Ask For Angela’ scheme. Notices in the lavatories provide instructions on how to seek help if you ever feel unsafe or uncomfortable. By requesting Angela at the bar, our team will discreetly assist you. They can offer to escort you to a safer area of the venue, call a taxi, or contact a friend or family member on your behalf. If needed, the individual causing distress will be asked to leave the premises, and appropriate actions will be taken.

I enjoy The Alchemist’s bar and have tried quite a few of their locations! I’m glad to see they’re implementing more to their bars.
