Trying This Chicken Box Deal From Uber Eats: Was It Worth The Money?
Finding a good takeaway deal can sometimes feel like winning the food lottery. You want something tasty, filling, and worth the price — especially when delivery fees and extra charges can quickly turn a cheap meal into an expensive one.
One evening while scrolling through the Uber Eats app, I noticed a special offer for a chicken box meal priced at just £8.97. It immediately caught my attention because takeaway meals can easily become expensive, so I decided to give it a try.
I also added a mayonnaise dip to the order, bringing my final total to £10.59 after delivery and fees.
For a takeaway meal delivered to my door, I thought this was a pretty reasonable price — but the bigger question was whether it would actually be worth paying the usual price.
What Did I Order?
The meal allows you to choose from different wing options, which is a nice touch because you can customise it depending on what type of chicken you prefer.
The box includes a selection of chicken items, making it a good option if you want variety rather than ordering just one item.
At the standard price, this meal usually costs around £14.95 before adding delivery charges and additional fees.
So the real question is:
Would you pay nearly £15 plus delivery and fees for this chicken box?

First Impressions
When the food arrived, the portion size was decent and it looked like a typical takeaway chicken box — a mixture of different chicken pieces rather than just one item.
The chicken tenders were probably the highlight. They were moist, not dry, and had a good flavour. Sometimes chicken tenders can be disappointing because they become dry after cooking and delivery, but these actually held up well.
The seasoning was enjoyable without being overpowering, and the chicken itself was cooked nicely.
The Burger
The burger was okay.
It wasn’t the standout part of the meal, but it was still enjoyable and did the job. It had a decent flavour, although compared to the tenders, it didn’t really impress as much.
For a takeaway meal at a discounted price, I wasn’t expecting restaurant-quality food, so I think it matched the price point.
Was It Worth £10.59?
For the price I paid, I was happy with it.
Getting a full takeaway meal delivered for just over £10 feels much more reasonable compared to spending £15+ once fees are added.
Would I happily pay the full £14.95 plus delivery and fees?
Personally, probably not every time.
At that higher price point, I would expect a little more — either a bigger portion, better sides, or something that feels more premium.
However, if you can catch it on offer, I think it is definitely worth trying.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I would give this takeaway a try again, especially when there is a deal available.
The chicken tenders were the best part of the meal, the flavours were good, and for under £10 it felt like good value.
For anyone local to Clayton, this is probably already a popular takeaway option, but if you haven’t tried it yet, the discounted deal is a good opportunity to test it out without spending too much.
My verdict: good value when discounted, but the full price may feel a little harder to justify.
I ended up paying £10.59 in total including delivery and fees.

Now here’s what you receive for £14.95 usually:
